Up here in Dakpathar, the pace is a little different compared to the big cities. We’re tucked away in Dehradun, and you can definitely feel the change in the air. The office is a basic setup where we manage the local work for the company. It’s not the easiest place to reach, but being closer to the projects in this part of the state makes a lot of sense for us. Inside, it’s mostly just files, some computers, and a lot of maps pinned to the walls. We spend a lot of time tracking the weather since it affects everything we do on the sites. It’s a quiet office for the most part, except when the field crews come back with updates. We don’t have any polished marketing materials lying around or a fancy lobby. We just focus on the task at hand, whether it’s checking a supply list or responding to some emails from the head office. The local tea is good, and we usually have a pot going in the corner. Sometimes the phone lines act up because of the location, but we find ways to stay connected. It’s a humble workspace, filled with people who know the area well and just want to finish the day's work properly. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated processes; we just do what needs doing. It is a simple life and a simple way of working.
