Samridhi Gau Raksha Foundation

We’re based at 14 Mohini Road in Dehradun, which is where the Samridhi Gau Raksha Foundation is located. It’s not a government-run thing or some big wealthy charity. We’re just a group of regular people who care about cows and don’t like seeing them abandoned on the streets. We spend most of our time trying to find enough food and a safe place for them to stay. It’s a lot of work and it takes up most of our days. Our office on Mohini Road is pretty simple, just a place for us to meet and keep track of who is helping out and where the animals are. We don’t have a big staff, it’s mostly just volunteers who come by after their real jobs. Dehradun is growing so fast and there’s less and less space for these animals, so we try to do what we can. We have to constantly look for donations for medicine and fodder because it gets very expensive. We aren't experts, but we’ve learned a lot about how to take care of sick cows just by doing it. It’s a tough job sometimes, and it can be sad, but it feels right to help. We don’t have any fancy slogans or marketing materials. We just do the best we can with the little we have. It’s a quiet effort by people who just want to see these animals treated with a bit of kindness.
