Sai Lift

Our place, Sai Lift, is right on the Haridwar Bypass Road near Rispana Pul. We are sitting directly opposite the Prasar Bharti building, which is a big landmark in this part of Dehradun. The bypass road is always full of trucks and cars moving fast, so it stays pretty dusty and loud outside our door. We deal with lifts and elevators, so there are often heavy parts and metal components sitting around the shop floor. It’s not a fancy office; it’s more of a working space where we handle repairs and plan out new installations. The floor is concrete and we have some basic desks for the paperwork. When the weather is clear, you can see the hills in the distance, but mostly we are looking at the traffic on the bypass. We start early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. People stop by to ask about maintenance or to pick up parts. We don’t spend much on advertising because being right on the main road helps people find us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, which is just how things go here. We have a small team of technicians who are usually out at different sites, while one or two of us stay back to mind the shop and answer the phone. It’s a busy, practical life centered around the movement of the road and the lifts we work on.
