RAJESHN CUTPIECE CENTRE LLP is right in the middle of Dhamawala Mohalla in Dehradun. If you know Dehradun, you know that Dhamawala is one of those old, crowded market areas where you can find almost anything. We have been here at number 1 for a long time. Our main thing is cutpieces of cloth. It’s a very traditional kind of shop where we have stacks and stacks of fabric piled up high. People come in looking for specific lengths or patterns for their tailoring needs. It’s always a bit chaotic with customers bargaining and the sounds of the street right outside the door. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a warehouse feel where you have to dig a bit to find what you want. My family has been in the cloth trade for years, so it’s just what we know. We don't do much online stuff; we prefer when people walk in and touch the fabric themselves. The light in the shop isn't the best, but we know where everything is. We take our lunch breaks in the back room and watch the world go by. It’s a busy life, especially during the wedding season when everyone wants new clothes. We are just a local business trying to provide good fabric at a fair price to our neighbors in Dehradun. It’s not complicated, just hard work and lots of measuring and cutting every day.
