You can find R. K Tour And Travels right on Laxman Jhula Road. We are directly across from Sony Guest House, which is a good landmark because people are always coming and going from there. The road outside is always full of motorbikes and people walking in yoga pants. It’s a lively part of Rishikesh. We have a small desk and a couple of benches where people can sit while we figure out their travel plans. It’s nothing fancy, just a room with some maps on the wall and a lot of dust from the road. We’ve been operating here for a while, helping people get to the airport or take trips into the higher mountains. We aren't corporate people. We wear our everyday clothes and speak plainly. If a road is closed because of a landslide, we’ll tell you straight instead of making excuses. We know most of the guest house owners around here, so it feels like a little community. Sometimes we share a tea with the guests from across the street. We don’t have a big marketing budget. We just rely on being in a good spot and being honest with whoever walks through the door. It gets loud with the traffic, but we like being in the middle of everything. It keeps us busy and we get to hear stories from all over the world. That's the best part of the job really, seeing how everyone travels.
