The Uttranchal Complex is a familiar sight on Haridwar Road here in Dehradun. We’re on the second floor, in Office No. 6. Being near the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan means the area is usually well-kept but can get pretty busy with people and cars. Peeyush Sharma & Co. is a modest place. You have to walk up the stairs since the building isn't very new. The office has that typical smell of an accounting firm—a mix of printer toner and paper. We have a few windows that look out towards the main road, though the noise doesn't bother us much anymore. We’ve got desks cluttered with folders and pens that never seem to be where you left them. There isn't any fancy furniture here. Most of our chairs are the old-fashioned kind that creak a little when you move. We spend the bulk of our day looking at screens and talking to people who come in with their bags of receipts. It’s a steady kind of life. Dehradun weather is nice, so we often keep the windows a bit open to catch the breeze, even if it brings in some dust. We aren't trying to be a big corporate firm. We are just a local office doing what needs to be done. It’s a small team, and we mostly just focus on the task at hand without much fuss or fanfare.
