Nature Lovers Foundation

Our group is at Shrishikesh Apat, specifically in Shop B-14 on SLR Road in Hadapsar. We call ourselves the Nature Lovers Foundation. It’s not a big fancy NGO with a lot of money. It’s just a few of us from the area who got tired of seeing the neighborhood get so dusty and grey. We decided to get together and try to look after the local environment a bit better. We aren't scientists or anything like that. We just like plants and trees and think they should be around more. Most of our time is spent talking to the people living nearby about keeping things clean and maybe planting something small in front of their houses. The shop isn't much to look at. It’s mostly just a place for us to keep some shovels, seeds, and old chairs where we sit and talk. We don’t have a big staff, it's just volunteers who show up when they can. Hadapsar is growing so fast that it’s hard to keep up. We try to do what we can with the little we have. Sometimes we organize a small cleanup on the weekends. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or marketing talk. We just want the place where we live to be a bit nicer. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but it feels good to see a small tree actually grow. We’re just regular people trying to be useful in our own small way.
