About Military Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Dehradun
Being part of 314 field hospital means you get used to things moving fast. We are tied to c/o 56 apo, so the mail comes in bags and the location is just where we happen to be set up right now. It is not like a big city hospital with glass doors and air conditioning everywhere. Sometimes it's a bit dusty and the equipment is older than some of the soldiers coming in. People usually just show up with whatever they have, whether it's a bad cough or something they got while out on training. The doctors here don't have a lot of time for small talk, but they get the job done. I spend a lot of time just organizing charts and making sure the beds are ready for the next group. You hear the trucks rumbling outside all day and the smell of tea brewing in the back room is basically what keeps us going. It is a bit loud and the paperwork is a nightmare because of the apo system, but that is just how it is. We don't have fancy waiting rooms with magazines. You sit on a bench and wait your turn. Most of us have been living out of trunks for months. It gets lonely sometimes, but then a fresh batch of supplies arrives and everyone gets busy again. It’s just life at 314 field hospital, really. Nothing more to it than showing up and doing the work today.
