Landore Community Hospital Mussoorie

We are Landore Community Hospital, located right here in Mussoorie. Being a hospital in the hills means our daily life is a bit different from the clinics down in the plains. The building is an old one, built with heavy stones that keep the cold out, or at least they try to. We get a lot of mist and fog up here in Landour, so sometimes you can barely see the trees right outside the windows. The hospital has a very local feel to it. Our patients are often people who have lived in these mountains their whole lives. We have a small staff, and we all know each other’s families. In the winter, when it snows, things get a bit more difficult as the roads get slippery, but we stay open regardless. We have a fireplace in the main waiting area that we try to keep going when the temperature drops. The rooms are simple with basic beds and wooden cabinets. We do not have the fancy bells and whistles of a city hospital, but we provide what the community needs. You can hear the birds in the morning and the sound of the wind through the pines at night. It is a peaceful place, despite being a hospital. We have been a part of Landour for a very long time, and we just keep doing what we have always done, which is looking after our neighbors.
