Gangotri Taxi Service

Gangotri Taxi Service runs out of Shop Number 2 and 3 in the main part of Dehradun city. We are situated right opposite Saint Thomas School, which makes it very easy to find us if you know the area. The street is always loud with the sounds of bells and buses, but we like the energy. Our drivers usually hang out near the shops waiting for the next call to come in. We’ve got a couple of small rooms where we keep the keys and the logbooks. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we make sure the cars are clean and the petrol is topped up. Every morning starts with a quick check of the vehicles. Dehradun traffic can be a real headache, so we try to get our timings right. People come in looking for a ride to the station or maybe a longer trip up towards the shrines. Being right in the city center means we see everyone passing by. We’ve known the teachers and the shopkeepers around here for years. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just show up, open the shutters, and get the taxis moving. If the rain starts, we move the chairs inside and keep working. That’s just how it goes here near the school.
