Gagandeep Singh Sahdev & Co is tucked away on the first floor of House Number 2 in Kalalon Wali Gali. If you know where MKP College is in Dehradun City, you’re basically there. The street is pretty narrow, and it gets a bit crowded when the college lets out. We’ve been in this office for a bit, and it feels more like a home than a regular workplace because it literally is a house. We have our desks set up and there’s always a stack of papers waiting for us in the morning. People find us mostly by word of mouth or because they live nearby in the 248001 area. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights out front. It’s just a place where we sit and handle the accounts and legal filings that people bring to us. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello, which is nice. The stairs up to the first floor can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. We spend most of our time looking at spreadsheets or talking on the phone with the tax department. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy. We try to be helpful when someone comes in looking confused about their GST or income tax. Usually, we just sit around the big table and go through everything line by line. It’s how we’ve always done things here.
