Diabetes Clinic & Research Center

We are situated inside the G. T. B. S. Hospital area, over by the Race Course. The Diabetes Clinic & Research Center has its own space here where we do our daily tasks. It’s a bit of a trek to get through the main hospital grounds sometimes. We handle a mix of regular patient visits and some research work on the side. The building has that old hospital smell, which you get used to after a few days. We don't have any flashy billboards. Most people find us because their doctor sent them here or they saw the sign near the Race Course entrance. The rooms are a bit small and the filing cabinets are getting pretty full. We spend a lot of time looking at data and talking to patients about their daily habits. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we find it interesting enough. The staff here has been together for a long time, so we have our own way of doing things. We don't use any fancy management systems, just notebooks and a couple of old computers. Sometimes the researchers get a bit bogged down in paperwork, but we manage to stay on top of it. It’s just a regular, working-class clinic environment. We come in, do what needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down. That's our routine and we stick to it.
