Dehradun College Of Art

Dehradun College Of Art is situated at 19-C on Subhash Road. If you are looking for us, we are quite near the Hotel Pacific in the Karanpur area. It is a lively part of town with a lot of shops and people walking around. Our building has been here for quite some time, and you can see that from the way the stairs are worn down. Inside, we have different rooms where students sit and work on their projects. There are usually easels set up everywhere and the smell of turpentine or oil paints is quite strong. It is not a very formal place. We have sketches pinned to the walls and sometimes the floors have some paint spills that we couldn't quite get out. We think that is just part of being a place where people create things. The windows are large so we get a lot of natural light, which is important for the work being done here. The folks who teach and work here have been doing this for a long time. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. We just have a schedule and we stick to it. Students come in at all hours, and there is always a bit of chatter in the hallways. Sometimes it gets a bit messy, especially when a big project is due, but we like it that way. It feels alive. If you are ever on Subhash Road, you can see us there, just a regular place for art.
