We’ve been running Db Tours Travels & Taxi Services from our spot at No. 13 East Canal Road for a good while now. It’s just a plain office, nothing too special to look at, but it gets the job done. Most days, we’re just sitting around drinking tea and waiting for the phone to ring or for a driver to come back from a long trip. The canal road gets pretty busy in the mornings, so we usually see a lot of traffic passing by our front door. We started this because we knew the city well and had a couple of cars ready to go. It wasn't some big plan, just a way to make a living doing something we understood. Sometimes the cars need repairs and it gets stressful, or a driver calls in sick and we have to scramble to find someone else to cover a trip. That’s just how it goes in this business. We don't have a fancy website or a huge team of people in suits. It’s just us, some keys, and a bunch of maps. People around here know where to find us if they need to get to the airport or if they’re planning a trip out of town with their family. We try to keep the vehicles clean, though the dust from the road makes that a constant battle. It’s a simple life at No. 13, just keeping things moving one ride at a time.
