Peace Trips

We are Peace Trips, and you can find us up in Gopeshwar, Rul Lagwad in Chamoli. We are located close to the Gopi Nath Temple. It’s a very different vibe up here in the mountains than in the big cities. We also have a presence near Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Our work involves a lot of talking to people about the mountains and local travel routes. The office isn't anything special; it’s just a room with some maps and a desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to drivers who know the roads. Living near the temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers every single day. It’s a beautiful place but the work can be stressful when the weather turns bad. The roads in Chamoli can be tricky, especially during the monsoon season. We don't have a big corporate structure or fancy offices. It’s just a few of us who know the local routes and the best places to stay. We don't use glossy brochures or fancy slogans to get people interested. We just tell people the truth about the travel times and the road conditions. Sometimes the internet goes out because of the hills, so we just have to wait it out. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they are visiting the temple anyway. It’s a quiet life for the most part.
