Akshita Smith Foundation

Our place is in Bhimujabelli, over in the Digoti area of Ranikhet. It is a bit of a trek for some, but it is where we are. Jude Smith, who is Solomon Smith’s son, is around here too. The address is 263651, deep in the Almora district. It is very quiet out here compared to the plains. We do not have a big sign or a fancy lobby. It is just a house-like structure where we keep our things and do our daily tasks. Working in the hills has its own pace. Everything takes a bit longer, but that is just how it is. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment. We just have what we need to get the job done. It is a very personal setup. We know all the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we have to deal with the weather, especially when it gets cold or rainy in the mountains. We just put on a sweater and keep going. It is not a polished corporate office. There is no receptionist at a desk. You just come in and find us working. We like it this way. It feels more real. We are just local people doing our work in a place we know well. Ranikhet is a beautiful spot, and being in Digoti gives us enough peace to focus. We just handle the day-to-day things as they come. It is a simple life and a simple office.
