About Aggarwal Sarees – Fashion & Trends in Dehradun
Jhanda Bazaar is always crowded and noisy, and we are right in the thick of it at number 19. It’s an old building that has seen a lot of years. My father spent a lot of time here before I took over the daily running of things. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep if you aren't paying attention. We keep the sarees in high stacks that almost reach the ceiling. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding every single day for whoever walks through the door. People come in looking for specific colors for weddings or just something simple to wear at home. We don't have fancy lights or air conditioning that actually works all the time. Just a few old ceiling fans that move the hot air around. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this street. We have lunch together sometimes when business is slow in the middle of the day. The floor is covered in thick rugs so people can sit down and look at the fabric properly. It gets quite dusty because of the road right outside, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass cases. There’s no big sign with neon lights, just the name written above. Most people find us because their mothers or aunts told them to come see us. We don't bother with social media or anything like that. We just stay open until the market closes at night. It’s honest work and keeps us busy.
