Adimantar Rural and Tribal Development Foundation is located at H.No. 21/C on Ballupur Chackrata Road. It’s a busy street, but once you step inside, it’s a bit quieter. We focus a lot of our time on the outlying areas and the folks who live in the more rural parts of the region. Many people forget about the tribal communities, but we try to keep them in mind. This office is just a regular house. The front room is for meetings and the back for storage. It’s usually full of supplies or things we are getting ready to take out to the villages. A fleet of cars isn't something we own. Often we just take the bus or get a ride from someone going that way. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we chose. More time is spent on the road than in the office. Chackrata Road is our starting point every morning. We meet all kinds of people, and every day is a bit different. Some days are frustrating when things don't go as planned. Other days, it feels like we actually got something done. Big donors or corporate backers are nowhere to be found. It’s just small contributions and a lot of sweat. We’ve been here a while and plan to stay. There is still a lot of work to do in the rural parts.
