If you go behind the police lines in Prem Nagar, you’ll find our place at 592/20. We’ve been at this spot for a bit. Abajm Foundation isn't some big corporate entity. We are just a small group of people who wanted to do something useful for the area. Being right behind the police lines makes it easy to find. The building is older and has its quirks. Windows rattle when it’s windy. We don't mind it much. It feels like home to us. Most of what we do involves helping folks who don't have much. Many people come through these doors. Some need advice, others need a hand with daily stuff. A big budget isn't something we have. We use what is available and make it stretch as far as possible. Sometimes we sit around the big table in the back and just figure out our next steps. There isn't a manual for this kind of work. Learning happens as we go. Prem Nagar is a busy place, and there’s always something happening. We try to stay out of the way but stay helpful. A lot of phone calls and visiting people at their homes take up the day. Suits aren't part of the uniform. Usually, it's just jeans and a t-shirt because we're always on the move. We like the work. It keeps us busy and connected to the people around us.
