About Jay Khodiya Engg Work – Machine Tools in Dediyasan
Our workshop is over in GIDC Phase-II in Mehsana. If you're looking for us, we’re at Plot K 2-205+206/6, which is basically right opposite the Telephone Exchange. It’s a noisy part of Dediyasan, mostly because of all the engineering work going on around here. We’ve got our machines set up in a couple of sheds that we joined together. It’s mostly metal shavings and the smell of oil once you step inside. We do a lot of turning and grinding. It isn't a quiet place to work, but we like it that way. The fans in the ceiling try their best, but when it’s Mehsana heat, they don't do much. We spend most of our time at the lathes. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is in the industrial zone. My brother and a few cousins help out with the bigger jobs. We usually have tea near the gate around four o'clock. Most of the neighbors are doing similar work, so we borrow tools from each other now and then. The road outside gets muddy when it rains, making it hard for the transport trucks to get through. We’ve been at this spot for years. It’s just regular engineering work, nothing too complicated. We just try to keep the machines running and the floors somewhat clear of scrap metal. It’s a lot of work, but we stay busy.
