Our office is right there on Dental College Road in Davanagere. We are in SI Arcade on the first floor, which is directly opposite UBDT College. Because of the college, there is always a lot of students and traffic moving around outside our doors. We run a chit fund here for the local people. It is a simple setup where folks from the neighborhood come to save their money together in groups. We have a few desks and a place for people to sit while we talk through the monthly cycles. It gets a bit crowded on auction days, but we manage to get through it. We are not big on flashy advertisements. Most people find out about our office from their friends or family members who are already part of a chit group. We take the record-keeping very seriously because it is everyone’s hard-earned money on the line. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a bit of noise, but we just work through it. We keep our files organized so we can answer questions whenever someone stops by. It is a straightforward business without any hidden layers. We collect the monthly amounts and handle the distributions according to the rules we all follow. Most of our members have been with us for years. They like coming to a place where they know the faces behind the counter. It keeps us busy from morning until evening.
