S. s Narayana Hrudayalaya

Up in Davnagere, we are situated right by the NH-4 Bypass near the SSIMS area. S. S. Narayana Hrudayalaya is a heart hospital, and being near the highway means we get a lot of emergency cases. You can often hear the sirens before the ambulances even pull in. The hospital is a large facility, and it can feel a bit overwhelming at first. We have doctors who specialize in all sorts of heart conditions, and they are often seen walking quickly through the halls. The night shifts are just as busy as the day shifts here. There is a constant sound of monitors beeping and carts being pushed around. The waiting area for families is usually full of people from the surrounding villages. We have a small post box, number 1, for our mail, which is quite old. The building has been expanded over time, so some sections look newer than others. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s built for heavy use. Our canteen serves basic meals to the staff and visitors, and it’s often the only place to sit down for a minute. The wind blows quite hard off the bypass sometimes, rattling the windows in the upper wards. We just focus on our routines and making sure the equipment is ready for the next patient.
