We've been here at 671/2A in Mandipet for quite a while now. Most days it smells like roasting beans the second you turn the corner toward the shop. It's not a fancy setup, just a lot of bags and a few machines that have seen better days but still get the job done right. People come in mostly for their regular supply, and we spend a lot of time just chatting about how the latest crop is looking. The floors aren't always spotless because we are constantly moving heavy sacks around. It’s loud when the grinders are going. Sometimes we run out of a specific roast because the delivery was late or we just had a busy morning. That's just how it goes here. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the heat and the dust. If you're looking for something specific, we usually have it tucked away somewhere in the back. It’s a busy spot in a busy part of town. We try to keep things simple. No point in making coffee more complicated than it needs to be. You get your beans, we have a quick talk, and you’re on your way. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We keep the doors open mostly. The neighbors know us well by now. It’s just work, but we like it.
