Living and working in Shimoga has its own pace, which is a bit different from the bigger cities in Karnataka. Our place is easy enough to find if you're familiar with the local area. We’ve been set up here for a bit, just handling the day-to-day training for whoever walks through the door. It’s mostly students from around the district who want to pick up some technical skills without having to travel all the way to Bangalore. The space we have is quite simple. We keep the desks organized as much as possible, though there’s usually a stray notebook or a coffee mug somewhere. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or anything. It feels more like a study room. When the power goes out, which it does sometimes around here, we just wait it out or chat until the backup kicks in. That’s just how it is. We spend most of our time looking at drawings and helping people understand how to use the tools properly. Some days are busier than others, especially when exams are coming up and everyone realizes they need to finish their certifications. We don't do much talking about big goals or things like that. We just show up, open the doors, and start the classes. If someone's stuck on a design, we sit down next to them and try to figure it out together. It’s a small team here, so everyone knows everyone. It’s a decent way to spend the day for us.
