Bindu Provision Store

My family runs Bindu Provision Store here at 24/141 in Nittuvalli. We are right on Sri Durgambika Devasthana Road in Davanagere. Being near the temple means we see a lot of people every single day. It’s a very local kind of place. We sell all sorts of daily needs. It’s the kind of store where people come to get their rice, sugar, and maybe some soap. We open up early because that’s when the temple goers are out. The shop isn't very large, so we have stuff stacked all the way to the ceiling. You have to know exactly where everything is or you’ll never find it. I’ve been working here since I was younger. We know most of the customers by their names. We hear all the local news and gossip while people wait for their change. Sometimes it gets really hectic, especially during festival times. The road outside is always busy with walkers and bikes. We don't have a computer system or anything; we still do a lot of things the old way. It works for us. Davanagere is a good town, and Nittuvalli feels like a small community inside it. We aren't looking to become a supermarket. We just want to keep the shelves stocked for the neighbors who rely on us. It’s just a regular life behind the counter.
