We are located right on the Pathai Pura Jhanshi Bypass Marg in Datia. Being on the bypass means it is always noisy with big trucks roaring past our gate. The stone crusher itself adds to the sound. We spend our time managing the piles of aggregate and making sure the machinery is greased up. It is a hard job and you end up quite dirty by the end of the day. We have a small cabin where we keep our tools and some water. Most of the guys here are local and we have worked together for a long time. We don't really have a big fancy plan. We just want to crush the stone and get it sold so we can go home. The sun in Madhya Pradesh is no joke during the summer. We drink a lot of water and try to stay under the tin roof when the machines are running. It is a straightforward business. You take big rocks and make them small. There is something satisfying about seeing the piles grow every day. We are just a local crew trying to do a decent job on the bypass. Sometimes the machines break and we spend all day fixing them, but that is just part of the life.
