Gupta Cloth Store

Gupta Cloth Store has been sitting right near No. 1 School in Rajghat for a long time now. It is a family business that we have kept running through the years. We sell all kinds of fabrics by the meter, and we also keep a good stock of school uniforms because the kids are right there next door. The shop is filled with tall shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, packed with rolls of cotton, silk, and synthetic blends. It can get pretty chaotic in here during the festival seasons when everyone wants new clothes made. We know most of our customers because they have been coming to us since they were children themselves. It is a small place, so when we get more than three people inside, it starts to feel very crowded. We don't do any big advertisements or have a website. People just know we are here. My father usually sits near the front and handles the cash while I do the heavy lifting of the fabric rolls and the measuring. The sound of the school bell is how we keep track of the time throughout the day. It is a steady, quiet way to live. We just focus on having a good variety of cloth so that nobody has to travel too far to find what they are looking for.
