Dwigauze Sports Foundation

Dwigauze Sports Foundation is located in a small village called Gopalpur, specifically in the Janbanga area of Dhekiapara. We are based at the house of Hemanta Kumar Deka. Sipajhar is where we are, in the Darrang district. Our zip code is 784145. Being out in the countryside means we have plenty of space, though it’s not always developed. We started this because we all like sports and felt there should be something for the local youth here. We don't have any big corporate sponsors or expensive equipment. Most of what we have is stuff we’ve bought ourselves or had donated by people in the village. It’s a very local, hands-on operation. We spend a lot of our time out on the fields, so the office is mostly just for storing gear and keeping a few records. We don't have a website or a marketing team. We just talk to the parents and the kids in the village. It’s honest work and it keeps us active too. The sun can be really hot in the summer, but we just find some shade and keep going. We aren't trying to build a professional league; we just want to give people a chance to play. It’s a simple life out here in Darrang, and we like it that way.
