Bina Tea Producer Company Limited is based out of 1 No. Pakhorijan Gaon. We work from the home of Jayanta Boruah. Being in a village like this means we are right in the middle of where the tea actually grows. It’s a lot different than being in a city like Guwahati. The air is better, but the work is still hard. We spend our time talking to growers and looking at the tea leaves. It’s not a corporate office with computers and whiteboards. We mostly sit on the porch or in a simple room and go over the day’s work. Jayanta’s place is easy to find if you are from around here. The road to the gaon can be a bit bumpy, especially after a big storm. We don't have a mission statement or any promotional talk. We just know about tea and how to get it produced. Every season brings its own set of problems, like the heavy rains or the bugs, but we just deal with them as they come. It’s a very local operation and we know everyone in the village. We aren't trying to be a big global company. We just want to handle the tea from Pakhorijan and make sure things are done right. It’s a simple way to live and work, focusing on the green leaves and the local community.
