North East Travel & Transport

North East Travel & Transport is up on the 2nd floor of Marwari Sadi Bhawan. You can find us on Burdwaan Road here in Siliguri. It is a busy street with lots of shops and people moving around all the time. Being on the second floor makes it a bit quieter than the street level, which is nice when we are trying to organize transport for big groups. We do a lot of work with trucks and cars for moving goods and people across the North East. It is a lot of paperwork usually. We have stacks of registers on the desk because we like to keep track of everything clearly. Most of our day is spent talking to drivers and making sure they know where they are going. We have been in this building for some time now. People know us for being straightforward. We don't promise things we can't do. If the road to the hills is blocked by rain, we tell you exactly that. We think it’s better to be practical about travel. Siliguri is a hub for the whole region, so we stay pretty busy throughout the year. The office is plain, just some posters of the mountains and a couple of old desks. We usually have tea in the afternoon while we finish up the daily logs. It’s just us working on Burdwaan Road, trying to keep the transport moving without any big fuss or trouble.
