Lakhotia Tour & Travels

We are based in Siliguri, over in the Sarkar Para area near the 2nd Mile mark. If you know where Balkisan Sangha is, then you’ve basically found us. Lakhotia Tour & Travels has been around this neighborhood for a bit. It’s a decent area, though it can get pretty crowded during the peak seasons when everyone wants to go up to the hills. We handle a lot of the local bookings and car arrangements. It’s not a very fancy operation, just a small office where we keep track of things. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear the phone, but we get by. We know the roads around here quite well, which helps when people ask for advice on how to get to Darjeeling or wherever. We don’t use any of those big marketing slogans. Most of our work comes from people who live nearby or saw our board while walking past. We just try to make sure the drivers are ready and the papers are in order. It’s a lot of checking schedules and making calls. Sometimes things change last minute because of the weather or the roads, and we just have to deal with it. If you’re around Sarkar Para, feel free to drop in. There’s usually someone here to talk about your travel plans over a cup of tea. It's a simple business but it keeps us busy every day throughout the year.
