Our spot in Salugara is located in the Thubasang Building on Junior High School Road. We are here as part of Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. working on the TLD HEP-IV project. It is right in the Jalpaiguri district, and being near the school means it can get a bit loud when the kids are heading home in the afternoon. It is a busy office because there are a lot of moving parts with the construction work happening around here. The building itself is pretty functional, nothing too modern, but it does the job. We have different people coming in and out all day, from engineers to guys working on the ground. There is always a pot of tea somewhere and a lot of maps and charts pinned to the walls. Dealing with the weather in North Bengal can be a challenge, especially during the monsoon months, so we spend a lot of time checking the forecasts and adjusting our plans. It is a lot of coordination and logistical headaches, but that is just what the construction life is like. We keep the files organized and make sure the communication stays open between the site and the office. It is a practical workspace for practical people.
