3 G Communications

3 G Communications is up on the second floor of the M.C. Building on Bidhan Road in Siliguri. It’s a busy part of town, and the stairs up to our floor can be a bit steep if you are carrying boxes. We work with phones and communication gear, which means there are always boxes of cables and handsets sitting around the office. Siliguri is a hub for a lot of trade, so Bidhan Road is almost always jammed with people and rickshaws. We can hear the horns honking from our windows all day long. The office itself is pretty plain. We have some desks, a few chairs for visitors, and a small counter where we handle the walk-ins. It is mostly just us answering phones and testing equipment to make sure everything works before it goes out to a customer. Sometimes the internet is slow, which makes our job harder, but we manage to get through it. We aren't a big corporation with a shiny lobby or uniforms. We are just a local shop that helps people stay connected. Most of the people who come to see us are regular customers we’ve known for a while. We have a tea break around four every day, usually from the vendor downstairs. It’s a simple life here in the M.C. Building. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing for our clients in Siliguri. We like the pace of things here on Bidhan Road.
