Rk Seba Association

If you’ve ever been to the Naxalbari Bus Stand, you’ve been right near us. We are located at Indira Mazumdar’s place. In a spot like this, things are always moving. The buses are coming in from all over Darjeeling and the plains, and the market is always loud. We started the Rk Seba Association because we saw so many people passing through who needed a bit of help. It might be someone who’s sick and far from home, or a family that’s struggling to get food on the table. We do a bit of everything. Sometimes it’s organizing a small food drive and other times it’s helping someone get to a clinic. Because we are right by the bus stand, we see a lot of different faces every day. It’s a busy life here in Naxalbari. Our office isn't much to look at. It’s just a couple of rooms where we store things and meet. We don't have any big corporate donors. Most of our support comes from the local community and people who know Indira. We try to be honest about what we can and can’t do. We are just a small association trying to make life a little easier for people in this part of North Bengal. It’s basic work, but it needs to be done. We’re just glad we can be here to help out when things get tough.
