Rajlaxmi Apparels

Rajlaxmi Apparels is located in Ramakrishna Para, over in Matigara. It’s a different vibe here than in the big cities. We are out in the Darjeeling district, so things move a little slower sometimes. Our building isn't anything special to look at. It’s just a practical space where we handle all our apparel work. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the fabrics we get. The weather here can be a bit unpredictable, which sometimes messes with our shipping schedules. We just do the best we can with what we have. It’s a small operation. Most of us are from the local area. We don't have a big corporate office or a floor full of managers. It’s just the people doing the sewing and the packing. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when the sun is out. The work is steady but it’s not glamorous. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to provide something useful for the people in Matigara and beyond. It gets a bit cold in the winter, so we bundle up and keep the machines running. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now. We might make a mistake here and there, but we always try to fix it. It’s just part of being a small business in this part of the country.
