R. C. Fashions

Our little setup is in Seth Srilal Market, inside Mittal Bhawan, over in Darjeeling district. R. C. Fashions isn't a high-end boutique or anything like that. It’s just a practical place where we handle clothes and various garments. The market is always busy with locals and people coming in from the surrounding hills. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the fabric and making sure the sizes are what they’re supposed to be. The weather up here can get pretty cold and damp, so we spend a lot of time making sure the stock stays dry and clean. Our space is filled with racks and bags, and sometimes it feels a bit cluttered, but we know exactly where everything is. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who help with the lifting and the selling. It’s a straightforward business. We buy things, we show them to people, and we sell them. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or loud music to get people in. Most of our customers come to us because they’ve been coming here for years. It’s about building a bit of trust over a long time. We just want to keep the doors open and keep providing for our families in this part of the world.
