Pramod Garg’s place is over on Dr. Kali Nath Road in the Khal Para section of Siliguri Bazar. It’s a busy neighborhood where everyone seems to be doing some kind of trade or business. We operate out of a modest space that’s mostly filled with documents and the tools of our trade. It’s the kind of office where you can just walk in and speak to someone without a lot of fuss. We deal with various commercial and personal matters for people living around the 734005 zip code. Life here is fast-paced, and we try to keep up with everything that comes our way. There’s usually a bit of tea being shared and some talk about the local market prices. We aren't big on fancy furniture or high-tech gadgets; we just use what works to get the work finished. Most of our clients are neighbors or people we’ve known for years. We don't really have a marketing plan or anything like that. We just rely on doing a decent job so people come back next time they need help. The road outside can be quite narrow and crowded with rickshaws, so it takes a bit of patience to get here. Once you’re inside, though, it’s a bit quieter and we can focus on whatever problem needs solving. It’s just a regular local business trying to stay busy and help people out. We keep it simple.
