Needs

Needs is our small shop right here in Ashrampara. We’ve been on Nazrul Sarani for a good while now, just keeping things going day by day in Darjeeling. People around here know the spot. It isn’t some big fancy showroom or anything, just a place where we stock what people usually ask for. Most mornings start with just getting the shutters up and seeing who drops by. Sometimes the weather gets a bit damp being in the hills, but that's just how it is. We try to keep the shelves filled with whatever is necessary. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others helping out. We don’t have some big corporate plan. We just open up, talk to the regulars, and try to make sure we have what they need before they head home. Nazrul Sarani stays pretty busy with traffic and people walking to work. You get used to the noise after a while. I’ve lived in this district for years, so I know most of the faces that pass by. It’s a simple setup. If you’re looking for something specific, we might have it tucked away somewhere. We spend a lot of time just organizing stuff and checking what’s running low. It’s hard work sometimes, but it keeps us busy. We don’t really do much advertising. People just find us because we’ve been here at this address. It’s just how we do things.
