M/S Vanshika Creation

M/S Vanshika Creation is tucked away in Khalpara, right on Vishwakarma Mandir Road in the Darjeeling district. It is a lively neighborhood where people are always walking to the temple or heading towards the main markets. Our workspace is filled with the sound of sewing machines and the rustle of different fabrics being moved around. It gets quite damp and cold up here sometimes, so we keep the doors shut to stay warm while we work on the latest batches. We handle a lot of different materials, and there are always scraps of thread on the floor no matter how much we sweep. It is a small team here, and we mostly just focus on getting the pieces finished correctly. The road outside can get a bit cramped with rickshaws and people, especially during festival times when the mandir is busy. We started out with just a couple of machines and slowly added more as we found more work to do. It is not a corporate setup by any means; it feels more like a workshop where everyone knows each other’s names. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused, and sometimes the power goes out, which means we have to stop and wait for it to come back on. We take things one day at a time and try to keep up with the orders that come in from the local shops. It is a simple life centered around the work we do here in Khalpara.
