Kindness And Service Youth Foundation

Our foundation is up here in Darjeeling, specifically in the Lower Nore area. We use a little space at Sunita Subba’s place. It is a quiet area compared to the main town center, which is nice for the kind of work we do. We are mostly younger people trying to be useful to our neighbors. There is not a big secret to what we do. We just look for ways to help out locally. Sometimes that means helping an older neighbor or organizing a small event for the kids in the street. The hills make getting around a bit of a workout, but we are all used to that by now. We do not have a big budget or any corporate backing. Everything we do comes from just wanting to provide some service to the community. It is 734201, so the air is usually fresh and the views are good even when we are stuck inside doing paperwork. We do not have a glossy brochure or a big sign. If you want to know about us, you just come by and talk. We usually have someone around during the day. It is not a formal place at all. You might find us sitting around a table drinking tea and planning what to do next week. We try to keep things simple and honest. Life in the hills has its own slow pace, and we try to match that. We just do our best.
