Babubasa Ekta Manch Foundation

Our foundation is basically run out of Reena Dangal’s place in Babu Basa. If you know the Devidanga area, you can find us pretty easily. We are officially in the Champasari post office zone in Darjeeling. It’s a quiet village setting, which is a nice change from the crowded town centers. Being up here in the hills means things move a bit slower, and we like it that way. Babubasa Ekta Manch Foundation started because a few of us wanted to stay connected and help our neighbors. We aren't a big organization with lots of funding. Mostly, we just gather at the house and talk about what needs to be fixed or who needs a hand in the village. It can get quite foggy and cold here during the monsoon and winter, so we spend a lot of time inside with the heater on. The address is simple, just Vi- Babu Basa. There are no street numbers like in the big cities, so you just ask for the house. We treat everyone who walks in like family. There is no formal front desk or anything like that. Just a few plastic chairs and a lot of conversation. We focus on our local community because that’s what we know best. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us and the people who live in this part of Darjeeling. We are just simple people trying to keep the village spirit alive.
