Anuska Store

Anuska Store is located over in Ashrampara, right near where the Jewel Club is. If you are from around this part of Darjeeling, you probably know the spot. We have been here for a bit, just running the store and seeing the seasons change. The hills get quite cold in the winter and we have to keep ourselves wrapped up while we wait for the morning deliveries to arrive. It is a simple place with shelves that we try to keep stocked with the things people actually need every day. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, and we have been meaning to fix that, but we just haven't got around to it yet because there is always something else to do. We get all kinds of people coming in, from the kids after school looking for snacks to the older folks who want to chat about what is happening in the district. We don't have any fancy displays or loud signs, just the name above the door and the goods inside. Our days are mostly spent counting change, moving boxes, and making sure the floor is swept. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside at once, but we make it work. It is just a local business trying to stay steady. We know our regulars by name and they know where to find us if they need anything.
