A.G. Fashion

If you ever go down ISCKON Mandir Road in Siliguri, you'll find A.G. Fashion. It's a pretty busy road because of the temple, so there are always people walking by, especially in the evenings. We started this shop because we wanted to have something of our own in this part of town. Siliguri is a place that gets a lot of rain, so we are always worried about the damp getting to the clothes. We spend a lot of time checking the plastic sheets and making sure everything is dry. Our shop isn't very large, but we try to keep it organized with different sections for whatever we have in stock. It's mostly just us working here, along with a helper who comes in the afternoons. We don't have any fancy displays; we just put the clothes on hangers and hope people like the colors. Sometimes the traffic on the road is so loud we have to shout to be heard. We drink a lot of tea from the stall next door and talk to the regulars who stop by to say hello. It’s a modest business and we don’t pretend to be anything else. We just want to provide something useful for the people living around the temple area. It's a lot of long hours, but it's okay because the community here is quite friendly and we feel at home on this street.
