Alpatti is a quiet enough place most of the time. Our dental clinic is situated right here, and people just know us by the name of the area. It is a very basic place where we spend our days looking at teeth and helping out the locals. We don’t really have a big fancy sign or anything, just the usual door that everyone knows. The daily routine is pretty much the same every week. We come in, sweep the floor, and wait for the first patient to arrive. Sometimes it is someone we have known for years, and other times it’s a new face from a nearby street. The rooms are plain and we keep things organized in a way that works for us. It isn’t about looking like a modern hospital; it is just about being a local spot where people feel okay coming in. The air in Alpatti feels different than the big cities, and we like that pace. We take our time with each person and don't rush through the day. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when it’s slow and watch the world go by. It’s a honest living and we have been doing it this way for a long time. People here don't want anything too complicated, they just want someone who knows what they are doing and stays in the same spot year after year. We keep our records on paper and mostly rely on word of mouth from the neighbors.
