About Nikhil Mashala Udyog – Food & Beverages in Darbhanga
We are located in Ward No. 11 of Ghosrama Village, which is part of the Hayaghat Block in the district. Being in a village means Nikhil Mashala Udyog is right in the heart of things. We are surrounded by homes and small farms. Our setup is quite traditional. We have the grinding machines that make a fair bit of noise when they are running, turning raw spices into mashala. You can smell the turmeric and chili from quite a distance away. The floors are often dusted with a bit of spice powder, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work. Our office is just a small room with a table and a couple of chairs where we talk to the local farmers who bring us their crops. We don't have a website or a fancy marketing team. Most of our business comes from people who know us in the village or from the surrounding block. We use simple scales to weigh everything and write our receipts by hand. It’s a slow-paced life compared to the city, but it’s busy enough for us. We have to watch the weather closely; if it looks like rain, we have to move everything inside quickly. It’s a very manual process, and everyone here knows their job. We’ve been a part of Ghosrama for a long time, and we just keep doing what we know, making mashala the way it’s always been done.
