Mishra Minerals

We are based in Kahua village. It’s quite a way out in the Biraul tahsil, so it’s fairly isolated. The roads are mostly dirt and gravel, so things get a bit messy and muddy when it rains. We work with minerals here. It’s heavy work and we are often covered in white dust by the end of our shift. We are just a small local outfit, not some giant company. Most of the guys working here live right in the village or the one next to it. We usually just walk to work in the mornings. We don't have a big corporate office or a lobby with chairs. Just a small room with a fan that squeaks and a few plastic chairs for when someone visits. We’ve been operating out of this post for quite some time now. People in the village know us as the Mishra family business. We don't spend any money on fancy brochures or television ads. We just talk to people face to face when they come by. If there's a problem with a load, we fix it ourselves right then and there. The equipment we use is old, but we keep it running with a bit of grease and a lot of patience. Life moves slow in Kahua, and our business is the same. We aren't in a big rush to become some global giant. We just want to do right by our neighbors and earn a decent living for our families. That’s the long and short of it for us.
