Maya Patho Clinic

Maya Patho Clinic is located over in the Gang Store area of Darbhanga. It is a bit funny because everyone around here calls it Gang Store, even if they don't really know the history behind the name. We are situated right in the middle of all that local activity. This clinic is where we handle all the blood tests and other lab work that people need. It is a small space, mostly taken up by the refrigerator for samples and the heavy microscope that sits on the main work table. I have spent a lot of my life looking through that glass lens. Darbhanga can be a chaotic place with all the rickshaws, traffic, and the busy markets nearby, but inside the clinic, we try to keep things as orderly as possible so we never mix up any of the slides. The walls are painted a simple white, and to be honest, they could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon. We have one small wooden bench where people can sit while they wait for their turn to be called. It is usually just me and one other assistant handling the daily workload. We are not some giant lab with dozens of fancy computers everywhere. We do almost everything the old-fashioned way, checking results carefully by hand. The light in the early morning is always the best for doing this kind of work, so I try to get the hardest tests finished before noon. We've been in the Gang Store area for a long time.
