Over in the Bajitpur area of Darbhanga, specifically at Lalit Kumar Yadav’s place in Chhipaliya, you will find our hospital. It’s in the Sadar part of the district, so it’s fairly central for anyone living around here. The building is a simple structure and we have tried to make the most of the space we have. Darbhanga can get very humid, so we are always adjusting the coolers to keep the patients comfortable. We have a few wards and a reception desk that stays pretty busy from Monday to Saturday. Usually, we are filing papers or checking on the inventory of medicine we have in the back. It’s not a fancy place with high-tech gadgets everywhere, but we have what we need to take care of the people who come in. We get a lot of local folks from the Chhipaliya neighborhood who just walk over when they aren't feeling well. The staff consists of local people too, so there is a lot of talking in the local dialect in the hallways. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked by carts or tractors, which makes things interesting when we are trying to get supplies delivered. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. It’s a basic operation but it’s important for the people living in this corner of Bihar.
