About Danteshwari Welfare Foundation – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Dantewada
Our place is at House No.220, over in Ward No. 12 in Geedam. Since it's a house, it doesn't really look like a typical office from the outside, which we actually like. It makes it feel more welcoming for people who live around here. Danteshwari Welfare Foundation has been operating from this spot for a bit, and we’ve gotten to know the families on this street quite well. Usually, the day starts with tea and a quick talk about what needs to happen. Geedam can be quite busy, but our ward stays relatively calm compared to the main market area. We have a few rooms set up for the work we do. There’s always someone coming by to ask a question or just to say hello. It can get a bit cramped when we have more than four or five people inside, but we make it work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time for that yet. We’re more focused on the actual tasks at hand. Working out of a home setting means there's always a bit of life around, like kids playing in the street or neighbors talking over the fence. It keeps us grounded in what's actually happening in the community. We don't have fancy signs or big posters. It's just us at House 220, trying to do our part without any big corporate setup. It feels right.
