Swamy Sharnam Ayappa Farm

Our place is at No. 221/ A in the Shri Dharmasasta Krupa Township. Swamy Sharnam Ayappa Farm is where we handle the daily business of running a small agricultural plot. It isn't anything fancy, just some land and the sheds we use for storage. We wake up early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get a head start on the chores. There is always weeding to do or something that needs watering. We don't have a lot of expensive machinery, so most of it is done by hand or with basic tools. The township is a quiet area, which makes it a nice place to work without too much distraction. We've been here for a while now and we know the rhythms of the seasons. Sometimes the harvest is good, and sometimes it's a bit thin, but that's just how farming goes. We don't spend much time in an office; most of our business is done face-to-face with people who stop by. We keep a notebook for our records instead of using a computer for everything. It's a practical way to live and work. We don't make big promises, we just try to take care of the plants and the land as well as we can every day. When the day is over, we're usually tired, but it's a good kind of tired because the work is done.
